Organization Structure and Culture
Madera pet hospital's working environment consist of a lot of team work, which I really like. While I was interning, there was a dog who was rushed in one day because he got hit by a mail truck. I got to witness not only what veterinarians and technicians had to do to try to save the dog, but I also observed how everyone worked as one and helped each other out. While I was interning at Madera Pet Hospital, I felt as if I was a part of this team because I made sure I was always there for anyone who needed help getting tools or holding an animal.
Career Path to Top
To become a veterinarian, you should probably have a bachelor degree because 95.4% of people with a bachelor degree became a veterinarian, compared to people who only have a high school education. Vet schools require a GPA of 3.0 or higher and high scores on the Veterinary Aptitude Test, GRE, or MCAT. Competition for a spot in a vet school is intense and only half of those who apply are admitted.
How My Internship Fits/Does Not Fit My Future
My internship fits into my future because it was a step closer to my overall goal of becoming a veterinarian. This Internship as helped me confirm that I want to become a veterinarian. I was able to recieve a taste of what it takes to be a veterinarian and what there daily responsiblities consists of. I now know that I could become a veterinarian.
